How long does it take to plan a wedding in Bali?

Bali is a very popular wedding destination, so it’s important to allow enough time to secure your dream date and plan your special day exactly as you envisage. We typically recommend planning your wedding 12 to 18 months ahead of time.

To give you a better idea of what’s involved in planning a Bali wedding and how long you’ll need, we’ve put together a destination wedding timeline below.

Stage one

12-18 months before wedding

During the initial consult, you might like to discuss with your in-house wedding planner about the Hotel Komune venues, potential themes, styles and inclusions. That way, we have a firm grasp of your dream wedding setting.

Next, you’ll need to decide on your preferred food and beverage packages and accommodation type. Ask us about our food and beverage offerings, and discover our luxury accommodation options.

With a destination wedding, it’s also important to give your guests plenty of notice so they’ll be able to attend. With this in mind, you’ll want to send out save the dates as soon as possible after you’ve secured your wedding dates.

Stage two

6 – 12 months before wedding

At this stage, you should have confirmed your destination wedding dates and decided on your wedding theme and sent out your save the dates. Next, if you haven’t already done so, it’s time to pick your wedding dress, groom’s suit and bridal party outfits. You’ll also want to have your flights booked well ahead of time.

The next stage is to begin organising your complete destination wedding experience. Your dedicated wedding planner can work with you to arrange:

  • Bridal hair and make-up
  • Hen’s, bucks or hux parties
  • Photographer and/or videographer
  • Flowers & decorations
  • Entertainment
  • And anything else you may require

At this stage, your to-do list should include:

  • Purchasing wedding rings
  • Setting up your gift registry
  • Finalising guest invitations with all of the necessary information
  • Finalising your wedding attire

Stage three

3 – 6 months before wedding

In planning for a wedding, the last three months generally fly by the fastest. At this stage, you should finalise your guest lists and communicate any changes to your dedicated in-house wedding planner.

From there, it’s time to start packing and get excited for the journey ahead.
